Divergent Series

After reading almost all of the series and whilst sat here watching Divergent for the first time it makes me wonder what faction I would choose.

Dauntless seems like a seductive and adrenaline rushing choice. One that breaks the barrier of fears and pushes to one to the limit. I know I could never be Abnegation because selflessness is just not something that I could do on a daily basis. How about Erudite? I believe that would be a great choice since I have spent much of my life in school and studying facts, truths, and lies.

It all makes me wonder if a world like that would actually become a reality in our lifetime.

My faith allows me to believe that we all will not go to heaven but will reside forever upon this earth as it becomes restored to the paradise that will come after Armageddon. I know that these "factions" will never truly exist but what if it ever did happen.... What would you choose?

#DearMe | A message to my younger self with love.

I have seen these videos everywhere and they offer such great insight that I have chosen to film one as well. I decided that I would also write a blog post about this subject.

The DearMe project is a great quick motivational moment to let our "younger selves" know that everything will turn out the right way, maybe not as we expected but as they do.

Here is my #DearMe :

Dear Younger Linda,

Linda, in spanish your name means beautiful. Your name already reminds you that you don't need to follow the crowd but to be your true self. Don't try to fit in to every situation, sometimes it is better to be the leader to make a change, not just to "lord it over" everyone but to show others that it is okay to be different.

Go follow your dreams. Do not let others tell you that those dreams are invalid and will never happen. They will happen soon enough, time is on your side. Enjoy being young, there is plenty, trust me, plenty of time to be an adult. Stop trying to be older than you are, you don't want to lose those rare moments.

Please take it easy on your parents. They are your parents, they love you with a love that is unexplainable. Yes, at times you are going to hate them with every inch of your being but their love should over-shadow those feelings. Be mad but don't hate them. You will regret that. Your dad will get sick and unfortunately pass away but always remember the best times. Your mom will need you. She needs someone to be strong and ready to fight a battle. This is something you will cherish much later. She is not against you, though it may seem like there is no relationship there, she is your mom and there is no truer love than that. Love her back as she loves you.

Dear me, Love with all of your heart, follow your dreams and cherish every moment, not the grand moments but the simple smiles and hugs and kisses goodnight. Once you are as old as I am now, you will understand that it is in these moments that bring back the best memories. Love will always find its home in its own time.

One last thing.... you are loved. You may feel like no one cares and you are just floating in the ocean, you are not. You will have so many people love you for just who you are. Trust in them. Love them because they will be there for you when things get really tough. Even today they are right here by your side rooting you on.

Dream, live, laugh and LOVE.... You have this one life, it is yours alone. School will be over soon and you will look back and realise that your friends will be there until they too move on with their lives. Stop trying to fit into a box that wasn't made for you. Instead create a beautiful mould that others can set their sights on.

Dear Me: Just Be You. You were made in God's image, don't try to let humans make you believe that your image is wrong and needs a complete makeover, to be thinner and more beautiful. You are already beautiful. Society is a mess, so please don't let yourself become too consumed with food weight and calories. You are perfect being you.
